Afghanistan’s opening batsman Ibrahim Zadran broke the old records of Champions Trophy by batting brilliantly in the match being played against England in Lahore. Zadran batted strongly due to which Afghanistan set a target of 326 runs for England to win. After winning the toss and batting first, Afghanistan scored 325 runs for seven wickets in 50 overs.

Ibrahim Zadran has left behind Kapil Dev
with this innings. Zadran has become the youngest batsman to score more than 150 runs in an ICC ODI tournament. Zadran achieved this feat at the age of 23 years 76 days, while Kapil scored more than 150 runs against Zimbabwe in the 1983 World Cup at the age of 24 years 163 days.
This is not the first time that Ibrahim Zadran has scored a century
against a big team in an ICC tournament. Earlier, Zadran had scored an unbeaten 129 against Australia in the 2023 ODI World Cup. Now he has scored a century against England in the do or die match of the Champions Trophy. Zadran is the first batsman to score a century for Afghanistan in this tournament. This is the 10th century so far in the Champions Trophy 2025, which is the joint highest. Earlier, 10 centuries were also scored in the Champions Trophy in 2002 and 2017. Pakistan is the only team for which no one has scored a century in the Champions Trophy 2025 so far.
